Hi, I just bought my first fiber laser today, a ComMarker B4 30w fiber laser. I plan to make an enclosure for it using 2-3mm thick aluminium sheets screwed into a extruded aluminium frame. I intend to have three of the four sides open upwards and out of the way somehow. Unfortunately the laser does not come with a interlock socket on the back so I have to wire it up myself.

The manufacturers dont mind you popping off the side panels at all and even have it listed as a solution in there troubleshoot guide. I was offered to have the interlock added if I paid them $100 more or i could just wire it in myself. I heard it is one of the 15 pin cables that need to be modified from the sales rep.

I plan to instal a ribbon extension cable while taping up the exposed metal parts of the plug with kapton tape to avoid short circuits. Unfortunately I dont know which wires i need to attach to or reroute. In the manual it shows a picture of a FBLI-B-LV4A control board but it might have been changed since the manual was made.

I plan to add a key to stop it running without it and a pressure switch to cut the laser when the enclosure door is open. Any information on how I should wire it in would be much appreciated.

Check out this video at this timestamp. It isn't EXACTLY what you're looking for but it explains the process and how to identify unused pins on the board. Hope it helps:
