A URI is a permanent web address. It is mostly for SEO purposes. For example when creating a directory it may be:

lasereverything.net/links/bestcoinblanks

bestcoinblanks is the URI

URI says letters and number only. Web addresses have special characters. Tried both ways, no joy.
