JDS bamboo cutting board. First try on the CO2. I did line instead of fill, I couldn't turn the laser down enough, but I'll look into that more tomorrow. Also couldn't get Lightburn to frame a tool layer which was odd.

@vinny Good to know. I'll experiment with my Aeon CO2 when it arrives.

@chargepositif I have an update on this. While I didn't connect the diode and check that, I did fire up the fiber and the tool layer does indeed frame. On the CO2 w/ a Ruida controller it does not, unless you use the "Rubber Band Frame" button - the one with the circle. Then it'll frame the tool layer. No idea why, I think it's a bug but Lightburn devs are aware of it.

@vinny Bamboo is a challenge for sure. I spent a lot of time and ran a bunch of material tests to find settings that work for me and my Ortur LM3 diode laser. I guess it's time to write up that article on LMA and maybe do the same here.

@vinny Since I started using LightBurn about a year ago (1.3.x maybe) Tool layers can absolutely be used for framing, and I know that's what I use them for, in addition to using them as layout guides.

There is even a switch to disable them for framing.

Interesting, I just found a thread on one of Lightburn's forums that says the tool layer is not supposed to frame. That "fix" was made in 1.3.0. They say if you need that functionality to use a different layer for it and turn off output. They also said they'd look into re-implementing it.
