A while back, Alex posted a video setting up an Xtool RA2 rotary on a co2 laser. To make sure I did it right ,I bought a stepper driver, connected it to my raspberry pie test setup ,set current for 1 amp and ran it for 45 minutes. The motor stayed cool .

@bandsawking Well I have had to replace 2 if them. I have some on a CNC plasma, Make sure to use shielded cable if you run plasma. Or keep the control cables away from the plasma cutter. I even have a No-HF pilot arc torch. Still got 2 of my TB6600s. But like you said, they are cheap enough.

@chargepositif The one in the picture is a rpi with a protoneer hat running grbl. It works great. I have another with linuxcnc on a rpi but I struggle with it.

@jackintheshop I use them in my cnc also. Haven't had any problems with them and they are cheap to buy.

@bandsawking I got 6 of them running 2 CNC routers.

@jackintheshop yes, they are the 4.5 amp ones. They work great.

That looks like the TB6600 drivers. Is that correct?

Nice stuff man. I have a bunch of electronics dev boards, including a RPi, just haven't had time to set up a bench to work on projects with them.

I connected it to my co2 laser, set the current on the y driver and had a ball using the RA2
