So I got to thinking, everyone says you need money to make money which is usually true. But I also was wondering, what happens when times are tough? How do you make money with no money? So I put together a pre-order for patch hats, and got 4 within 20 mins
Nice. I have had thing listed on etsy and FB Market for years that have not got a any attention. Kinda of funny. My highest price thing is the only one I get orders for.
@willies I went through my supplier and picked out only the colors that they had a huge stock of so I should be safe on that front. I did notice a lot of them like black on black are sold out
A word of caution on the hats (speaking from experience) everybody likes the same colors, I've gotten orders in only to discover this or that color combination is sold out,,,, ick! I have four hat vender accounts and even then there are times I am scrambling to find an out of stock item.
@andrewf another avenue for supplies is cabinet shops and construction sites for cut offs and scrap. I also know a few higher end welders and can get stainless and steel scrap. I also buy test products from DG, thrift/antique stores and goodwill. I have gotten a handful of name brand tumblers for 5 bucks or less.
@admin thanks! And good point, I did put that I wouldn’t be starting the hats for 2 weeks in the actual product page but I think I’ll add an estimated ship time too
That's badass dude just have to be transparent about the ship time obviously because you in theory have to *order* the hats, then they have to get to you, then you have to make them. Really smart though I've never done anything like this before.
Note, this isn’t a sale post, it’s to hopefully help someone else going through tough times to make things work. Not only does it help with inventory cost, but now you can judge what inventory will be popular instead of sitting on things that won’t sell. Hope this helps someone else
